At first, this course seemed like a good practice on python focusing on Data Science, but it turned into something terrible starting with "groupby" lecture, and assignment 3 and 4 were awful. I know the data we will see "in the real world" will be messy like the ones in the assignments, but wanting EXACT results, expecting us to use the EXACT SAME methods is just poor design. All in all : ✔ Well designed outline (in theory this course looks like a good practice) ✔ Not-bad teaching ✗ Terrible assignments
This is very good!!!
Muy completo el curso, pero los assignments no concordaban completamente con lo visto en los videos (su dificultad era mucho mayor).
This is good course but you should really have good knowledge of python before doing this course. even if this is introduction course still python basic knowledge is needed
Overall I have enjoyed the course and got useful skills from it. I really appreciate the effort the course development team has put to create it. It would be better if the programming assignments include more 'textbook problems' where we get to practice the basic uses of python (eg. rename, groupby, apply) before delving into these long and hard real-world problems. Sometimes I just got so frustrated when I found out I did not actually know how to carry out the basic operations while doing the assignments. Thank you!
Ejercicios demasiado elaborados y complejos, requirere mucho tiempo de trabajo.
Challenging, very practical oriented. Active staff on forums.
I have reasonable amount of experience in data analysis using R. I found this course to be fun and challenging. But I heavily relied on my previous experience. I imagine it would be very difficult for someone with just basic Python skills. Also, it feels like a large chunk of assignments was about data cleaning (yes, it’s important) while important pandas concepts weren’t covered in as much detail as I would’ve liked. The recommended book is really good, I’m using it as reference a lot.
While I did learn some new things in this course, the material / pacing and especially the assignments were organized very poorly. Instead I would recommend just going through Wes Kinney's book (which is referenced in the course as reading material), for better explanations / better examples, and a much better understanding of concepts.
Interesting course, with interesting practice assigments, i like them!
