An excellent course for beginners to Python
Fue un gran curso
This course delivers a strong introduction to programming and does so in a way that feels approachable rather than overwhelming. The instructor clearly understands how beginners think and designs each lesson to head off confusion before it starts. Concepts are explained in a practical, conversational way, and the presentations stay engaging instead of feeling scripted or monotonous. The biggest drawback has nothing to do with teaching quality but with the platform itself. Auditing the course limits the learning experience—you can’t submit quizzes for feedback, and programming assignments are automatically marked incorrect even when your solutions work. Although the system still checks your code for errors, the lack of confirmation makes it harder to know how well you’re doing. Despite these limitations, the course content is efficient and well organized. I completed all of the lessons and readings in only a few days, and the workload felt light, roughly a few hours per week. The videos pair well with the textbook, making the material easier to absorb and helping reinforce key ideas before moving on. Coursera’s focus on paid access is frustrating, especially for learners who are auditing due to financial constraints. Pursuing financial aid felt impractical given how quickly I was able to move through the material. Still, the value of the instruction itself outweighs the platform’s shortcomings. For anyone curious about Python or looking for a first step into programming, this course provides a solid foundation. Even as an auditor, it’s worth taking—just be prepared for some irritation with the system rather than the teaching.
