For future tech or CS courses from U Mich, please follow Dr Charles Severance's approach in teaching. Make learning and wanting to learn truly enjoyable. Teach material that will be tested in assignments and not throw curve balls which lead students to google answers and 'stack overflow' it unnecessarily. This course is not for beginners or for those that have just picked up programming. The autograder system is a real pain in the butt. A lot of time is wasted just to conform and present the answer that the autograder will accept.
Some parts are "difficult" but worthy to learn! Recommended 100%
The content is excellent (useful material and instructive assignments). I would have given it a 5 if I hadn't wasted a lot of time on mistakes/ambiguities in the assignment instructions, autograder rounding errors, etc.
Awesome course. The lectures are very good. One thing that I liked a lot is that they taught regular expression which is very helpful in processing strings. Also, the assignments are very tough and if you can solve them correctly (not hard coding, and by yourself), it will boost your confidence a lot. And please remember this course is not for beginners. If you have basic knowledge of Python (list, dictionary, function, list comprehension, etc), it won't be that tough.
Great introduction to representing and manipulating data with python pandas series and dataframes. Lectures are interesting and clearly presented with interactive examples in jupyter notebooks. The last two assignments are quite tricky as the hard part is cleaning and preprocessing real-world data, obtained from wikipedia etc., in dataframe form, somtimes using techniques not explicitly covered in lectures so some searching and self-learning is required. However, this is the core learning experience of the course as it reflects the messiness of data analysis in real world situations.
Fantastic course
That's very ok and nice
Nice
One of the best data science course
In this course, you should do all the learnings by yourself. I had to search the internet for the concepts, watched youtube videos to understand the concepts. The instructor had no role unless reading and writing some boring long texts. No handouts or materials.
